MY HIT.

The revolution in the entertainment industry is incomplete without the discovery of new talents and the creation of new brands. The comedy industry has witnessed a great competition between the young and old comedians since the discovery of young and intelligent talents through the A.Y’s Open Mic Comedy Competition.

The Comic Trinity is a high voltage comedy competition that will be very electrifying and exciting as the trio of Seyilaw, Elenu and Emeka Smith will battle for their places in the trinity. This is a battle that deserves to be fought and scores settled.

Who is the father, the son and the spirit in this Comic trinity? They have been tagged the next kings of comedy. It is time for them to prove their intelligence as the audiences are the judges to decide their places in this game of wit and comedy.

The show is a total package as it is a musicomedy concert. It will feature music wonders like 9ice the gongo aso crooner, W4, X-project and D.J Jimmy Jatt on the wheels of steel and dances by DNMT and Explicit from Ibadan while comedic genius like Alibaba, A.Y, Basketmouth, Gordons, Jedi will also be present.

It is time to CAST YOUR VOTE.

This is from the stable of SEYILAW ENTERTAINMENT EVENTS, your one stop source for the solutions to all your entertainment problems.

Phototalks and My experience from Queen Idia Hall of U.I

The truth is the response of the crowd to my perfomances yesterday was absolutely wao. It was the Queen Idia Hall 2008, the first show held in an auditorium after four years of ban in the University of Ibadan.

The question on everybody's lips was, "where have you been?". I was moved as I had to repeat my success three more times on the stage, not giving room for a dull moment. The audiences hailed and screamed on top of their voices, building my confidence and urging me on to more success in my act.

The contestants came and did their stuffs. A medical student emerged the winner, she is fifth from left in the last picture with the former Queen seated. She is very intelligent and beautiful.

The night was taken through another drama when 9ice, the Gongo aso crooner came on stage. The crowd went gaga, as they danced and screamed the lyrics of his music.

It is another experience not to be forgotten soon.

Love you all,

SEYILAW.

This Week

My people, it is not a small something this week o. Sunday saw me come back from a wonderful show at NYSC camp at Sagamu, were the audiences were treated to comedy in its rawness. Later that day, I was at Rev. Chris Okotie's Church to raise the roof alongside big bros, A.Y, Bovi, Emeka Smith, Elenu and Jahdiel and then Alibaba's child naming ceremony. We partied into the night. I met Oga Julius agwu at Shoprite and you can tell its filled with fun.

Monday, I was on the road trying put things together. I got my starcomms EVDO internet card, am on 24hrs. Though, monday was stressful, but it was worthwhile. On Tuesday, I was once again out this time to get fuel for my generator. Can you believe I bought 25ltrs for 5, 000 naira? Hmmmm, o ma se o. Then, I got busy non-stop on the internet. You are reaping the benefits.

Today is wednesday, got a long day ahead of me. There are places to go to, someone special to meet. Want to know? Keep your fingers crossed. Did I tell Emeka Smith ruin my photo shoot yesterday? Well, it did not hold. I will let you know what it is for later.

Tomorrow, I will be in Ibadan for Miss Idia, I bet U.I lites are no ready for what will hit them. I am set to crack ribs , God willing.

Friday will see me back to Lagos trying to get some rest 'cos saturday is going to be a busy day as I have jobs to do. Two wedding receptions and a ...................................... Let me keep you guessing on that.

SEE you when I see you again.

This is my week. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

SEE beyond the fun of Entertainment.

The flow of comedy into the entertainment industry in Nigeria is an amazement. It is surprising to see an industry that took Nigeria by storm some few years back with efforts from the likes of Alibaba who is currently the King of stand up comedy, the late Jaguar, Opa Williams, the money spending humor merchant who has changed the face of stand up comedy.

I am a product of the man who learnt the dexterity of the trade under the sparkling eyes of Alibaba as an event manager. His name is Ayo Makun or A.Y as he is popularly called by his teeming fans. My success, I always believe has something to do with my name, LAWRENCE meaning "crowned with victory". My stage name is Seyilaw, I won the first open mic comedy competition organised by A.Y and since the transformation has been elating.

I know Nigerians just as soon as I got into comedy, find it difficult to trust a new brand so it got me all started to work and the growth I have experienced has been amazing. The thought of success in me, provoke a life changing attitude and determination which has since performed at several events. I remember putting tears in the eyes of a governor and his deputy governor. The power of comedy can never be overemphasized.

Comedy is a work of intellect and self denials. You denied yourself of just being like everybody while trying to be intelligent enough to see the comedy in our everyday life. Though, the work is great, but the benefits too are numerous. You get to travel, meet people and expand your knowledge etc.

The year 2008 started with beams of a bright future while I performed at the get together by Chief (Mrs). Olusola Obada, the deputy governor of Osun state. I was at Rhythm Unplugged in Abuja, then I was in Lagos for A.Y LIVE 2 (Lagos Invasion) and I was fortunate enough to be listed for COMEDY TITANS at Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos alongside my big brothers like Julius Agwu, A.Y, Teju Babyface, Koffi, Emeka Smith etc.

Lots have gone down the year, can't mention them all, but whether good or bad, Nigerians need to know that behind every comedian carries emotions and strongwill to make them.

It is high time we start seeing beyond the fun of entertainment and start applauding to build someone self esteem and courage.

Thanks for peeping in.

Yours truly,

SEYILAW (BCFR).
